Diamond Jubilee event

Members of the Prince Edward Historical Society were closely involved with the organization of today’s Diamond Jubilee celebration in the Wellington  & District Community Centre. This post shares a few photographs from the event.

The Ameliasburg Museum and Pioneer Village were doing brisk trade with the fascinators made by members of the Women’s Institute:


Formal proceedings were introduced by Sandy Latchford and featured addresses from local dignitaries including Chief R. Donald Maracle of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte:

And whatever their costume, everyone enjoyed the cucumber sandwiches, scones and jam put on by the WI:
