The Prince Edward County Archives is running a fundraising event to support their digitization programme.

The event takes place on Saturday September 22 between 7pm and 9pm at By Chadseys Cairns, 17432 Loyalist Parkway, Hillier. Tickets are $15 a head or $25 for couples and can be purchased from the winery or from any branch of the County’s libraries. Click on the flyer for more details.

Talk on the County’s barns

County barnOn Thursday, September 20th, 2012, The Hillier Women’s Institute is hosting a talk which may be of interest to Historical Society members.

Ernie Margetson will share stories of old barns in the County starting at 2:00 p.m. at Hillier Hall. This is offered as part of the Women’s Institute Rural Ontario Sharing Education Program, and the public is most welcome to attend.

Refreshments will be served.

Hastings County Historical Society Presentation

On Tuesday September 18th the Hastings County Historical Society will host a talk by The Venerable Bradley Smith, Rector of Tyendinaga and Chaplain of Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal of the Mohawk, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Queen Anne’s Chapel at Fort Hunter, New York.
